Cape Tribulation to Smithfield
Where we work, and how far it actually is
22 suburbs, from Cape Tribulation down to Smithfield. Every one has its own page saying what the access is like and what the work is actually like there.
Mossman · 20 km
Some of these places are three streets and a boat ramp. They still get a page, because a Newell Beach house has different wiring problems to a Port Douglas resort and nobody is served by pretending otherwise.

Where we go: the questions
What areas do BH Electrics cover?
The Douglas Shire from Cape Tribulation in the north down to Wangetti, and the Cairns northern beaches from Palm Cove to Smithfield. 22 suburbs have their own page with the local access and conditions on it, and it is all covered out of one workshop at Craiglie, just south of Port Douglas.
Do BH Electrics travel past the Daintree River?
Yes. Cow Bay, Cape Tribulation and the Daintree are all on the patch, over the ferry and up the Cape Trib road. Planned work there gets booked into a run so a van is already heading that way, which keeps the travel down. The ferry stops in flood and that is the one thing outside our control. Emergencies we still come for.
Do BH Electrics work outside the Douglas Shire?
For specialist and compliance work, yes. Queensland Parks and Wildlife ranger bases across Cape York, the Wet Tropics and the Daintree, sites at Undara and Chillagoe, and the Low Isles lighthouse fifteen kilometres off Port Douglas, which we reach in our own boat. Day-to-day electrical work stays inside the service area.
Further afield
Cape York, the Tablelands and the Low Isles light
For compliance and specialist work we go a long way past the Shire. Queensland Parks and Wildlife ranger bases across Cape York and the Wet Tropics. Lockhart River. Mount Surprise. And the Low Isles lighthouse fifteen kilometres off Port Douglas, which we reach in our own boat.
Wherever you are on that list, it is the same crew out of the same workshop.
